Meet the 2025 Mentors
Simran Choudhary - Student Doctor, Class of 2028
Hello! My name is Simi, and I’m currently wrapping up my first year at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I’m originally from San Jose, and I moved out of California for the first time last July to attend Midwestern! I graduated with a degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from UCSB, then moved back to the Bay Area to work at a community health center for four years before starting medical school. In my free time, I enjoy discovering new restaurants, swimming (when it isn’t too hot), and exploring dog parks with my dog, Oni. I’m looking forward to the memories we’ll make together this summer!

Brenna Crow - Student Optometrist, Class of 2028
Hello! My name is Brenna Crow, and I’m currently in my first year of optometry school at the Arizona College of Optometry. I’m originally from San Diego, California, and I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Utah Valley University. After that, I completed a post-baccalaureate pre-med program at California State University–San Marcos. Before starting school, I worked as a receptionist at an optometry office, where I discovered my love for the profession. In my free time, I enjoy playing pick-up soccer, reading, binge-watching TV shows, and taking naps. Fun fact: I work at a doggy daycare during school breaks in Phoenix—and I absolutely love it! I can’t wait to meet you all!

Quynhanh Dam - Student Doctor, Class of 2028
Hello! My name is QuynhAnh (pronounced Quinn-Ann), and I’m a first-year medical student at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, this is my first time living out of state! I completed my undergraduate degree in Global Disease Biology at the University of California, Davis. After graduation, I worked a variety of jobs—from scribing in the ER to working for the California Department of Justice, and even substitute teaching for all K–12 grades. In my free time, I like to weightlift or try out new workout classes like reformer Pilates, spin, and hot or aerial yoga. I also love a good food or coffee crawl in the city and spending my mornings at farmers markets, usually adopting a new plant or two. I’m excited to meet you all this upcoming summer!

Kate Donaghey - Student Dentist, Class of 2028
Hi everyone!!! My name is Kate Donaghey, and I’m a first-year dental student here at Midwestern! Although I was born in Arizona, I grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin. I moved back to Arizona in 2020 to attend Arizona State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. During undergrad, I was co-president of a club called Science Detectives, which focused on teaching science to kids through fun experiments. I’ve always had a passion for healthcare, science, and art—which ultimately led me to pursue a career in dentistry, and I LOVE it! I’m especially interested in specializing in orthodontics. In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball, knitting, and doing Pilates. I’m so excited to meet you all and help guide you through this incredible program. My biggest piece of advice: keep an open mind and, most importantly—have fun!

These experiences and relationships I built during my time there truly solidified my passion for helping others and hoping to make meaningful impacts. When I’m not studying, I love lifting weights, exploring great food spots, and spending time with my dog, Hazel, and fiancée, Vivian. I’m so excited to be a part of this program and to share this experience with all of you. I hope to positively impact this program as my mentors have done so for me. I can’t wait to meet you all!

I love to cook and try out new recipes (please feel free to share some with me!), and I enjoy staying active—whether it’s at the gym or playing soccer, tennis, or pickleball. Hi everybody! My name is Taylor Lisevick and I am currently wrapping up my first year of medical school at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I was born and raised in Avon, Connecticut over on the East Coast before relocating to the Midwest for college. I attended THE Ohio State University and was a student athlete competing for three years with the Women's Soccer program and graduating with a bachelor's degree in biology. We were Big Ten Champions my freshman year and made it to the NCAA tournament all three years. After college I got my master's degree in biomedical sciences at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut before working in Ophthalmology as a medical scribe for a year. I moved back to Columbus, OH for a year to work as a Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator before matriculating into Midwestern's Medicine program this past fall. I can't wait to meet you all this summer and explore the world of healthcare together!

Rachel Morris - Student Doctor, Class of 2028
Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Morris, and I’m a first-year medical student at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I grew up here in Phoenix and in Chandler, and have been in Arizona my whole life. I went to undergrad at the University of Arizona, where I studied Public Health and Anthropology. I have experience in a variety of fields, including education, public health programming, grief support, and pharmacy. I ultimately chose medicine because it combines all of these skills that I’m passionate about. In my free time, I love to read, cook, swim, and hang out with my friends. A fun fact about me is that I have three pet turtles! One lives with me (Goliath the red-eared slider), and two live with my parents (Harry the red-eared slider and Greg the tortoise). I’m so excited to meet you all this summer!

Hi everyone! My name is Cristina Navarrette, and I’ve just finished my first year of Optometry School! I grew up in La Mirada, California, and completed my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton. I’ve always known I wanted to work in healthcare, but it took some time to figure out which field to pursue! After volunteering for Lions Vision Club California and working in a Primary Care/Dry Eye Optometry Clinic as a scribe and technician, I became confident in my decision to pursue optometry. In my free time, I love to read, take spin classes, play with my dogs, go to the movies, and try new food spots! My advice to someone starting their journey is to always ask questions, try to build connections with your classmates and professors, and say yes to as many opportunities as you can. You never know who you’ll meet or what you’ll discover until you give it a try!
