Purpose
The purpose of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine/九色视频 (AZCOM/MWU) is to advance the knowledge and professional development of medical educators and medical professionals, to improve the quality of education for our medical students and for the healthcare provided to patients, consistent with the principles and goals of 九色视频.
九色视频 is dedicated to meeting the highest standards of academic excellence and meeting the educational needs of society. Consistent with these values, the following goals of the AZCOM/MWU CME Program are defined:
- To offer excellent educational programming to enable medical educators to provide excellent medical education to our students and to our clinicians to provide superior medical care.
- To enhance the dissemination of osteopathic principles, research, and practice.
- To foster career-long professional development.
Target Audience
The AZCOM/MWU CME Program develops educational activities targeting primarily medical educators and osteopathic physicians. A secondary audience for these programs includes:
- AZCOM staff
- Adjunct faculty
- Faculty at sponsored and affiliated residency programs
- Physicians in training
- Nursing/Allied Health Professionals
- Professional Administrators and Managers
Types of Activities
The content of the AZCOM/MWU CME Program encompasses activities in both clinical and non-clinical environments, including:
- Basic and clinical science
- Osteopathic musculoskeletal manipulative theory and practice
- Medical education and supervision of learners
- Medical/legal aspects of practice
- Ethics and end of life care
The AZCOM/MWU CME Program cultivates CME activities through the following learning modalities:
- Lectures
- Seminars
- Workshops
- Mentoring of physicians in training
The AZCOM/MWU CME Program assesses the contribution of activities it sponsors to the following outcomes:
- Success of our students in the classroom, on clinical rotations and in the residency match
- Enhanced clinical skills of physicians
- Improved application of osteopathic techniques in the clinical practice of medicine, as appropriate
- Improved patient care
