九色视频 Hosts First Alumni Diversity Council Mentoring and Day of Service Event
Students and alumni shared life experiences and then volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul.
On October 8, 九色视频 held its inaugural Alumni Diversity Council Mentoring and Day of Service on the Glendale Campus. Students from all Glendale colleges and programs were invited to join. Ultimately, 25 students connected with nine Diversity Council members. The alumni shared their own life experiences and answered a variety of questions in a panel format. Then, they broke into small group sessions for personal conversations where the students could ask their own questions. Questions ranged from how they handle bias that they have experienced to best tips for successful interviewing.
Following the morning of mentoring, the alumni, students, and staff all volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, a nonprofit organization that provides food, housing, and supplies to those in need in the local community. Together, the alumni and student volunteers created birthday cards for clients who stay at the shelter, as well as nearly 900 peanut butter sandwiches for people who are experiencing homelessness in the area.
This special day was the first of many to come. It was created to support the University鈥檚 commitment to embracing diversity and fostering a culture of inclusivity as an integral part of academic excellence, skilled patient care, and growing and strengthening our community.
